OTTAWA, ON - The
Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA) is now accepting player applications for the senior men’s field lacrosse national team that will represent Canada at next summer’s
2018 FIL Men’s Lacrosse World Championship in Netanya, Israel.
Interested players are invited sign up for the team’s selection camp - which will take place in Buffalo, New York, between October 6, 2017 and October 8, 2017 - using the online application form.
Israel, which has become one of the fastest growing lacrosse nations in recent years, will become the first country outside the U.S., Canada, England and Australia to host the World Championship since its inception in 1967, marking a huge milestone for the growth of lacrosse internationally.
Between July 12-21, 2018, the Mediterranean resort city of Netanya will welcome a record 50 countries and over 2,000 athletes to this quadrennial competition.
Team Canada are the defending champions, having defeated the U.S. in the finals of the
2014 World Lacrosse Championship in Denver, Colorado. They also captured the title in 2006 and 1978.
Additional information on Team Canada’s selection camp, including camp fees and other requirements, can be found on the application form. Please direct all questions regarding the camp to Dave Huntley, men’s field lacrosse program director, via email (
